UNSW Industrial Design Students Explore Krost Manufacturing and Design Process

Details

We recently had the pleasure of hosting industrial design students from UNSW for a factory tour at our Smithfield manufacturing facility. The afternoon started with a warm welcome before we guided the students through our office, warehouse, and machinery. During the tour, we provided an in-depth look at how we approach design from concept to completion. We showcased our entire design process, from initial ideas to prototyping and production.

We highlighted how our machinery plays a crucial role in bringing our designs to life. We also gave the students a firsthand look at our warehousing solutions and systems. It was great to see their interest in how design can evolve from a concept into a fully realised product. This was especially true through our local manufacturing processes.

We wrapped up the visit with light refreshments. This gave the students an opportunity to further interact with our team. They could discuss various aspects of commercial design and furniture production.
The visit was a fantastic opportunity for us to connect with the future generation of designers. We hope to inspire them with the practical and creative aspects of our industry. We hope this experience helped spark new ideas for their future careers.
